The successful candidate will render high level legal services to the City of Chesapeake and assist with oversight of departmental operations.

The City of Colonial Heights, Virginia (pop. 18,674) is seeking an experienced individual to serve as the primary legal counsel for the City Council and the various components of the City Government. The City operates under the Council/Manager form of government.  City Council is comprised of seven Council members, from whom the Council appoints a Mayor and Vice Mayor.  The City Attorney reports directly to the City Council and works closely with the City Manager, department directors (including Constitutional Officers), boards, and commissions.  

The Hanover County Attorney's Office seeks qualified applicants for a Senior Assistant County Attorney or Assistant County Attorney II, depending on candidate qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will assist the County Attorney and Deputy County Attorneys in providing a wide range of legal services to the Board of Supervisors, the School Board, constitutional officers, the Pamunkey Regional Library, and County departments, boards, and agencies.  Prior experience with local government is preferred but not a requirement.

The Hopewell City Attorney's Office is hiring its first Assistant City Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a wide variety of experience and direct client interaction.

The City of Newport News is accepting applications from attorneys for a full-time position as an Assistant City Attorney or advanced level attorney. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and at least 5 years' experience in local government law. The specific job duties will depend upon the successful candidate's experience and interest but may include human resources, real estate, economic development, eminent domain, and/or workers' compensation matters.

The Fauquier County Attorney is appointed by and under the general direction of the Board of Supervisors. Performs complex professional and administrative work, providing legal and litigation assistance to the County’s boards, commissions, departments, Constitutional Officers and agencies. Oversees the operation of the County Attorney’s Office and supporting staff. Makes independent decisions. Reports to the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and works in partnership with the County Administrator.

The Roanoke County Attorney's Office is hiring!

We are looking for an attorney to serve as full-time counsel to our Department of Social Services and are seeking to fill this position at a Sr. Assistant County Attorney level (with a salary range of $87,000 to $115,000).

This position is responsible for assisting the FOIA Officer in responding to requests for public records as required under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA). As Deputy FOIA Officer, the individual assists the FOIA Officer in determining which school and/or department(s) supplies the records based on the request, communicates with appropriate PWCS staff on the specific request, reviews and redacts documents as needed, interacts with the requestor, processes and records payments, and meets timelines and other procedural requirements of VFOIA.
