COUNTY OF SPOTSYLVANIA Senior Assistant County Attorney

Under limited supervision, performs professional legal work on behalf of the Board of Supervisors of Spotsylvania County. Employee is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to County departments, boards, and commissions and representing the County in court. Duties also include drafting ordinances, formal legal opinions, contracts, and other legal documents. Employee must exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in determining the proper course of action in a variety of legal cases and situations. Employee must also exercise tact, courtesy, and discretion in frequent contact with judicial officials, public officials, and the general public. Reports to the County Attorney.
